Cryptex is the names designed to take your nerves on a whirling journey through the crossroads of technical expertise and programming innovation where skills and imagination combine to trace your way to your destination.

The event has been designed to test your competence in every domain of the CS-IT field. The battleground is leveled for testing your skills in various areas including hand-core coding and testing, cryptography, techni-fiction,

hardware recognition and a general awareness about the CS-IT universe. Code your way through the mind boggling tales sprouting from the technical minds of MANIT. Bury yourself inside the processor and prove your dexterity. Rack your brains to decrypt the links between the puzzles and images unfolding around.

DAY 1:

Round 1: Techno-tale

Once upon a time, a virus named "Cruel Joker.exe" travelled his way to reach the core of the OS with the sole purpose it was created for. The journey began when the virus entered the system. As he proceeded through its path to reach the kernel of the OS he acknowledged different impediment that it came across. Taking out one obstruction after another Mr.Cruel Joker slowly travelled towards his target and now when he thinks that he has done everything that there was to do and that victory is in his grasp he realizes his folly and understands that it was all a lost cause.

Round 2: Iconizer

ICONIZER is the visual glimpse of CRYPTEX. You have to rummage your messed up brain to identify the logos, taglines and the pictures. Your general awareness in the technical field and about the various multinationals will be tested.

Round 3: Conundrums

Ciphers, codes, logics, puzzles, crosswords are waiting to jumble your mind. Conundrums have got all that needs to make someone to think like a maniac.

DAY 2:

On the basis of the evaluation of Day 1, teams will be selected for Day 2 main event. The remaining teams will have auxiliary rounds parallel to the main one based on which one team will get WILD-CARD entry to the GRAND FINALE.

Auxiliary Event:

Round 1: Technical Quiz

This techno quiz will cover up all the fields of the technical world from coding to latest technology. Answer the questions to get a wild card entry in the Grand Finale.

Round 2: What's Nextt??

To conquer this round, you have charge up your creative, imaginative and innovative power to the next level. You have to think of an idea of the next generation to go through this round. Think of an existing an entity and suggest What Next can be done. Open your mind and say "What Nextt!"

Main Event:

Teams that qualified Day 1 rounds will be eligible for the main event.

Codex

Your proficiency and talent in coding, logics, encrypting and decrypting a text will be tested in this round.

GRAND FINALE

Five teams from the main event and one team through wild card will have to use their brains to get through the final round.

Testing and Programming

Unleash your programming skills to solve the problems statement given to you by building a running code. Use these skills to tests programs given to you to find the exceptions and logical bugs.

Hardware Trivia

You really have to think HARD to pass through this round. A journey to the inner world of the computer which is full of IC's, ports, buses, microcontroller etc.

Do the New

Think beyond the horizon to develop new software which will revolutionize the software industry. Think widely and openly so that people can Do The New.

Rules:

1. Team should consist of exactly 3 members and should carry their team as well as college Ids.
2. Registration for the event will be on the spot only after you have registered for NOESIS-09 as a     team.
3. Decision made by the judges shall be final.
